Returns & Warranty

Thirty days to change your mind, and a two-year warranty on the mechanism.
Instruments are sold by Stratos Bio Labs LLC, trading as Stratos Instruments.

Thirty-day returns

You may return any instrument within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the purchase
price, provided it is in resalable condition with its calibration card and packaging. Email
support@stratosgoods.store first for a return reference. Refunds are issued to the
original payment method within 5 business days of the instrument reaching us.

Return shipping on a change-of-mind return is paid by the customer. Return shipping on a
faulty, misdescribed or damaged instrument is paid by us, and we will email you a prepaid label.

Two-year warranty

Every instrument is warranted for two years from delivery against defects in materials and
workmanship — bearings, movements, capsule stacks, pivots and cases. If a mechanism fails in
normal use within that period we will repair it, replace it, or refund it, at our option, at no
cost to you including shipping both ways.

What the warranty does not cover

• Accidental damage, impact, or dropping.
• Water ingress on instruments not rated for outdoor use.
• Consumables: barograph charts, fibre pens, psychrometer wicks, batteries, polish and wax.
• Normal patina on copper and unlacquered brass. This is the material behaving correctly.
• Drift that is corrected by the instrument’s own zero-adjust screw, as described on its card.
• Instruments opened or modified by anyone other than us.

Calibration disputes

If you believe an instrument reads outside the offset recorded on its card, tell us the serial
number and what you compared it against. If your check is sound and the instrument is out, we
treat it as a warranty fault and cover shipping both ways. If the card explains the difference —
which is the usual outcome, especially with barometer elevation settings — we will show you the
arithmetic rather than simply refusing.

Non-returnable

Opened consumables (chart sets, pens, wicks) cannot be returned once the seal is broken,
unless faulty. Everything else is returnable within the window above.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under applicable consumer law. Where local law
gives you a longer period or a stronger remedy than this policy, that law applies.
